These days are considerably different from days of the past. Everyone has more responsibilities, even kids! Gone are the simpler times of the past when family came first and got a lot of time. However you do not have to give in to the times, there are plenty of ways to have family activities in under 20 min. Here are just a few simple examples that you can incorporate into your life to get more time with your family.
-Family meals-
With the craze of schedules it can be hard to coordinate family dinner. However, with planning you can plan on at least one family dinner every week. Pick a day and insist that everyone give at least 20 minutes to eating and sharing as a family. Make sure everyone leaves their cell phones and electronics away from the table and engage in actual conversation. If your schedules really are that hectic, try to get everyone up a little earlier than usual and have breakfast with your family.
-Go for a walk-
On nice evening a short walk can make for a great time to have some one on one time with family members, or you can bring your whole family with you. One effective way to ensure this becomes a regular ritual is to consider getting a family dog. Make walking the dog (or dogs) a family chore and you can enjoy the company of your family each and every day.
-Tv Time-
With different interests this may not be the most viable way to connect with your family. However if you can find a program you all find interesting you can get your family together for at least 30 minutes every week. You may need to make compromises to pull this off, but the family time is worth it.
Those are just three ways to get some more time with your family. Take these ideas and look around and see where can you grab some extra time with your family every week? Maybe go out for ice cream, or go to a park. With a little bit of creativity and scheduling magic you can pull out tons of family activities that turn into wonderful life long memories.
